OK, so why do I have a blog about some pathetic, drunk, wasted druggie about to die?

I don't.

I have a blog about one of the most talented, gifted, and authentic artists of the young generation, Amy Winehouse. Say what you want about Wino and her shambled life, but you cannot deny that her music ALONE garnered the fame, not criticism or hate, but fame, that has earned her a position of one of the most talented artists in a very long time.

If one listened to Amy's singing voice (without knowledge of her appearance, background, or lifestyle), there would be no doubt in their mind that her voice matches her. A short, skinny Jewish white girl in her twenties from London singing like a seasoned jazz & R&B professional (the likes of Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald and even Lauryn Hill comes to mind)? Is that her real voice, or is this just another case of Milli Vanilli? Nope! She's got an impeccable voice with the skill of a master jazz artist. Don't understand? Check out "Back to Black," from her latest album Back to Black, or "Fool's Gold," a track from the deluxe edition of her debut album, Frank.

Now as for her drug problems, its OK to think that she's living the wrong lifestyle, and to think she's completely insane (as even I, an avid fan, do sometimes :D), but PPLLEEAASSEE do not think like the haters out there who wish she would die, because that solves NOTHING!! If you're gonna hate Amy like that, you may as well hate Billie Holiday, Janis Joplin, Natalie Cole, and the other icons many of us know and love today because of their drug abuse - just saying! :D
